Tint Percentages

I wanna tint all the windows in my Sedan, well besides the front windshield. How dark should I go, 20% all around? Or should I go 15% on the back and back rears and then lighter on the driver and passenger side?

Check your local laws or you'll never forgive yourself when you have to scrape your tint off in front of the police with a razor because its too dark or on the wrong windows

Once that is done go as dark as you can go but make sure it matches all the way around.
I think 20% would look really good all the way around
Have you ever driven with tinted windows before, it can be quite the experience at night. I would suggest getting the back three windows tinted and try driving for awhile. Tinting the passenger side windows can be a lot darker then one might think and you may regret it.

Just my opinion though.

Hi,

I have had all the windows of my 2009 Genesis sedan tinted with the exception of the front windshield with the Llumar 35% ATR35CHSR High Performance Metal Combination.

It looks real nice and it is well within the legal limit for tinted car windows here in Ontario, Canada.

You should check the legal limit in your area before getting this work done to be on the safe side.

35% is what I would suggest. Tint as many windows as possible

Speaks the truth
One thing I have learned about tinting is don't go cheap. Pay the extra money and get it done right with the right product. I have seen many a cars that have cheap crappy tint that turns purple and bubbles if it is left in the sun for too long. Pay the extra now and most should come with a warranty from discoloring.
I know most state laws are 35%. I had Maatco(the only tint brand I use) 5% on my back and rear windows and 20% on the front with 35% on the windshield in my truck. But what can u do to throw cops off if you wanna be a little darker than legal. You can put 20 on the back and 35 on the front and they wont mess with you unless they are real dicks
Thanks for all the info guys. I finally ended up buying a Genesis Coupe 3.8 liter and put on 35% tint on the sides and rear windows....it really looks good on the black of the car and don't think I would want it any darker!
In Florida the window tint law says 28% on the driver and passenger windows.
Check your state laws. $100 + fine in Fl.
Having to peel off the tint with a razor blade on the side of the road is not fun.

I got 50% tint on my rear three windows and love it. It is not too dark to look out at night but is still very noticeable when looking from the outside in.

I considered 50 but when I looked at it in the tint shop it just didn't seem to be tinted at all. Maybe it was a bad sample.
I have my current car tinted - it's definitely lighter in the front than it is in the back. When I'm inside, I don't really notice it as much - I can still see out clearly - I just didn't want people looking inside or staring at me while I was driving:p

But yeah, be sure to check the legal limits as it will save you money - as for tints, look for something with a good warranty - mine has lifetime warranty and so far I haven't had any complaints.

Do any of you have pics of your Genesises tinted?
