Those that have the 3.8Liter engine have you upgraded to synthetic oil yet?

What kind of cost was it? Will Hyundai do the change?

I am still running conventional oil in my car without any issues. Not sure if Hyundai will allow you to make the change without some kind of change on the warranty.

synthetic last longer than conventional and doesnt burn off as easily. also after a few proper heat cycles it actually lubricates better as well. but switching from conventional to synthetic is not that easy. you need to gradually do it.

I keep debating whether to go to full synthetic or not. I know that my dealer uses a synthetic blend already and at 42,000 and no issues I will probably keep with a blend.

Synthetic Oil Blend

It is my understanding that my new (3300 miles) Genesis came from the factory with a synthetic oil blend. I have used a full synthetic oil in all of my cars for many years with no problems.
The dealer or any oil change shop will gladly change to synthetic with no gradual changeover necessary. It just costs a few dollars more per quart.

i know the synthetic oil is decently expensive, but i really need to know if it is worth it for a newer genesis than an older. thoughts?

I m in the favor of synthetic oil and been using it for like more than two and half years.
