since this is currently a hot topic with most car manufacturers. a lot of manufacturers are currently implementing if not already what is called "smart throttle". if you want to find out more on how it works or if your car has it or will have it. click the link to find out.

note: both the coupe and sedan are listed as having this feature.

Personally I think cars have too many safety features already. If people don't know how to drive, they shouldn't have licenses. I think licensing is a big issue compared to safety features. I mean, if people knew better how to drive and react to panic situations, the roads would be safer for everyone. Safety features on a car like this braking thing just dumb down drivers even more than before. I feel the same way about traction control and ABS too. It ends up giving drivers the feeling of invincibility and they lean on the technology to make corrections for them.
i know exactly how you feel. thats why i love driving older cars. you actually feel that you're in control of the car. all the newer cars are designed to take away from the driving experience. regardless its still good of hyundai to be actually addressing this issue before it actually becomes a problem on one of their cars.
Here's an update to that whole thing you posted. A Korean newspaper reports that all new Hyundai cars will get the Brake Override System by the end of this year.
