What products to clean your engine?

I love a clean engine, clean enough to eat off of but thats nearly impossible. What kind of engine cleaner does everyone recommend to keep under the hood looking like it just rolled out of the dealership showroom.

Soap and water has never gone wrong for me but it is very time consuming.

Has cut thru pretty much all grease and gunk built up on the block and engine head. Use it three or four times a year and keeps the under engine compartment very clean.

Not sure this is the thread to post this on, wondering if anyone has experienced this problem:
My genesis is Interagos Yellow and I have problems with bugs...nats and flys that fly on it all the time! Dont think its the cleaning products I use cause I've changed to several different products thinking that's what it might have been. Could it be.....the color???? LOL

I don't think your car is different from anyone else's that bugs would only be attracted to yours. The reason that it's more visible is because you drive a yellow car. I drive a black car and bugs hit it as well... its just less visible. Bugs will hit your car no matter what when you are driving. It's just like saying that because I drive a yellow car, birds will naturally crap on it more often... quite ridiculous, don't you think?

A good car wash product like Mother's or Meguiars will be the first step. They also have specialized cleaners to remove bugs and road debris. Just take a trip down to your parts store and get something specialized to help out.

never use anything simoniz. they're very low quality products. like nadeem said use mother or meguiars products. if you clean you're engine bay make sure to cover any exposed electrical components and try to get everything as dry as possible before starting the car again.
