The no start problem on my car turned out to the brake light switch which evidently worked intermittently and then finally failed. As you all know the brake must be depressed on the automatics before the smart key circuit is energized. Fortunately I was never rear ended since I imagine there were times when driving that the brake lights weren't working. Anyway alls well
